MNR / OPP Patrol Report For August 12, 2006
On Saturday, August 12, MNR /OPP patrol covered the Northeast, Hub and Southern
portion of the lake including all of Cross Lake, from noon to 11.00pm Fishing
was slow except for bass with a few being kept, saw only 3 walleye and no lake
trout. At least 56 contacts were made which is a little low considering the
beautiful weather. In response to a complaint one ticket was issued for a person
violating the parking sign at the public assess on Cross Lake. Numerous warnings
were given for "failing to carry a license while fishing." The frequency
of liquor on boats is down from the past but there were 2 groups with large
amounts of beer onboard both being consumed and in reserve, both of these groups
were charged by the OPP. Numerous warnings were given for missing boating safety
items (sound signaling derives, flashlights, even one lifejacket) but a very
noticeable concern was the lack of running lights on boats well after dark;
this is a serious safety problem.
Please Note: You must carry your fishing license
You must have running light for your boat
